Mark Ericksen is Brookview Photography. Brookview Photography started in Birmingham Alabama and moved with me to Utah.
I am married and I have five wonderful little girls. Yes, they are pictured on the website. I love children and I find it very easy to interact with them. I love working with older "kids" too. I love creating beautiful photographs.
I work on location and use natural light which helps keep each photograph unique. The location can be a place like your home, the neighborhood park, a canyon or other areas. When working with very young children, a location they are familiar with works well. With older subjects, we can talk and determine what location best matches your needs and the goals for the session.

My sessions are relaxed and casual. I work on location where the child is most comfortable. The sessions are not rushed. I take the time needed to capture the personality of the child. I find it easier for children to be themselves when they are in comfortable surroundings and not being overly "directed". Together with the parent, we guide the child into areas or activities that will photograph well. I look forward to working with you and meeting your children.
I will not ask your child to say "cheese". Poses are discouraged because they are unnatural for young children and that unnatural feeling comes across in the photograph. As I work, I follow your child or children around and interact with them. With your help we can guide them to good locations and angles. It should be a fun and relaxed experience.
Children tire and may need a little break from time to time. This is normal. The session does not have a fixed time limit. It may range from 1 to 2 hours to ensure we capture the beautiful and animated photographs we want. Please budget enough time for your child's session to prevent it from being rushed.
